A postdoctoral position is available within NetS3 laboratory working on the development and experimental application of a novel generation of implantable probes incorporating active microelectronic circuits for monitoring in vivo neural activity at large-scale.The main aim of this position is to develop micro-/nano-structuring technologies for implantable neural probes.The candidate will be working for NetS3 laboratory within IIT in Genova.
The candidate could also be involved in assessing the performance of the neuro-electronic devices under experimental conditions both at IIT and at Harvard Medical School in Boston as part of a formal collaborative program between IIT and Harvard Department of Neurobiology. Applicants should have a solid background on thin-film processes and structuring technologies and microelectronics. Knowledge in neuroscience, neuroengineering and on the experimental use of multielectrode array devices and other brain-implantable neural probes is helpful. Essential qualifications for this position include a PhD in physics, engineering or closely related disciplines.
