Job Description

The Escarra research group at Tulane University has a postdoctoral position available starting in the summer of 2014. This position will center on developing new photovoltaic optics, devices, and modules with improved efficiency of solar energy conversion. The candidate will principally be involved in the development of a new type of photovoltaic module designed to work in tandem with solar thermal energy harvesting. The candidate will also be involved with two other projects related to developing 1) dielectric nanophotonic structures, with applications in photovoltaics and beyond, and 2) novel two-dimensional semiconductors for use in optoelectronic devices. The candidate must have experience with design, simulation, micro/nano-fabrication, and electronic and optical characterization of photonic materials, devices, and/or related systems. Highly qualified candidates will have significant research and development experience related to photovoltaics. The candidate should also have excellent communication and leadership abilities.
