法国麦克斯慕萨伦生物分子学院招聘有机化学医药化学博士后
The Max Mousseron Institute of Biomolecules (IBMM) develops research programs in thematics combining the chemical synthesis and the study of the physico-chemical, biological, pharmacological and toxicological properties of biomolecules. The host team, “Enzyme Inhibitors” is interested in various pathologies where enzyme inhibition could represent novel therapeutical approaches.
Méditerranée Infection Foundation is a Thematical Network for Research and Care gathering together scientific and medical teams located in the south-east of France. It supports scientific and clinical research on infectious diseases (better understanding of physiopathological mechanisms, development of new diagnostic tools and therapeutics,…).
A post-doctoral position is opened in Team 9 of IBMM (“ Chemistry of Amino Acids, Peptides, Heterocycles, Supported Chemistry”, “Enzyme inhibitors” Group).
Starting autumn 2014.
Two years contract funded by Méditerranée Infection.
Neat salary, 1500.00 € monthly.
We would like to welcome people from South countries.
Title of the project.
Inhibition of the HslVU complex as a new therapeutical approach for Leishmaniases and Trypanosomiases: synthesis, biological evaluation and mitochondrial addressing of the inhibitors.
Summary.
Today therapy of Leishmaniases and Trypanosomiases is heavy and complex and there is an urgent need for new targets. The proteasome-like HslVU complex is such a promising new target as the inhibition of its expression is lethal for the parasite and it is absent from human beings. We started the design of molecules able to inhibit HslVU assembly. The post-doctoral fellow will be in charge of the chemical synthesis of molecules and will participate to their biological evaluation (enzymatic tests), which will be held in the team of Dr Olivier Coux (CRBM, Montpellier). The complex being present in the parasites’ mitochondrion, we will also develop means to address the inhibitors toward this compartment. The post-doctoral fellow will also evaluate the capacity of vectors to target the mitochondrion by confocal fluorescence microscopy in the laboratory of parasitology of Prof. Pierre Marty in Nice.
The candidate will be a highly motivated organic chemist. An experience in peptide chemistry and/or solid supported chemistry will be an advantage but is not necessary.
