Postdoctoral Fellow in Material Science and Electrochemistry : Waterloo, Canada

 

A post-doctoral fellow position is available in the research area of the Development of Advanced Graphene Materials for Energy Applications including Supercapacitor, Batteries and Fuel Cells, working at the Applied Nanomaterials and Clean Energy Laboratory in the University of Waterloo, Canada. The Fellow is expected to synthesize, modify and optimize novel electrode materials based on graphene and other novel nano materials. Applicants must have a PhD and a strong background in the materials science field and experience of research on energy applications (supercapacitors, fuel cells, batteries, etc.). The positions are immediately available and applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

 

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized PhD-equivalent degree in Material Science or other relevant fields

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
- Broad experience in synthesis, functionalization, characterization and application of graphene and graphene-based materials for energy application is a must
- A proven track record of excellence in experimental research and recognized publications
- Innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas
- Demonstrated ability to promote and perform independent work in a group-oriented research environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

The Lab offers a highly interdisciplinary research program on materials and clean energy technologies including material synthesis, characterization, and device fabrication for Lithium Ion Battery, Lithium/Zinc Air Battery and PEM Fuel Cell research. Qualified applicants are expected to have a strong academic background in nanomaterial synthesis, characterization and electrochemistry.
