A Postdoctoral Research applicant is sought with an interest and experience in Synthetic Chemistry and Electrochemistry.

The successful applicant will use synthetic methods to produce modified electrodes suitable for use in fuel cells and biosensor devices as part of an ongoing collaboration with Professor Philip Bartlett (University of Southampton). You will be working under the supervision of Professor Jeremy Kilburn. The project is based at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).

Candidates should hold a PhD in Chemistry with experience in both synthetic chemistry and electrochemistry. Training can also be given where needed and there will be opportunities to attend international conferences.

This is a three-year, full time position, starting in August 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary is in the range of £31,113 - £36,544 per annum including London allowance. Salary will be according to qualifications, skills and experience. Benefits include 30 days paid annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
