英国帝国理工学院医学院博士后—痴呆症表观基因组学

Research Associate in Epigenomics UK Dementia Research Institute

Imperial College London - Faculty of Medicine

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in vascular-immune epigenomics to join the lab of Dr Alexi Nott in the UK DRI at Imperial.

About the role

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in vascular-immune epigenomics to join the lab of Dr Alexi Nott (https://nottgroup.com/index.html) in the UK DRI at Imperial.

Following a new award from the Alzheimer’s Association, you will lead one or more projects to characterise the epigenome of vascular-immune cell types in Alzheimer’s disease using patient-derived samples.  Based on the White City Campus under the guidance of Dr Alexi Nott, you will profile the epigenome and chromatin architecture of brain-derived vascular and immune cell types. You will contribute to the design and generation of large-scale ‘omics datasets with a primary focus on epigenomic analysis at single nuclei resolution to address major research questions relevant to Alzheimer’s disease and vascular pathology.

Today, over 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia and related neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease. The impact of these incurable and progressive conditions on individuals and their families is devastating. The cost to the economy and public services is large and growing as the UK population ages.

are a globally leading multidisciplinary research institute of over 900 staff investigating the spectrum of neurodegenerative disorders causing dementia, driving a step change in our understanding of neurodegeneration, and accelerating the discovery, development and delivery of interventions that will help diagnose, treat, and ultimately prevent dementia.

Please contact Dr Alexi Nott for further discussion about the project and role.

What you would be doing

Using your experience in single nuclei (epi)genomics of the brain, you will:

Generate single-nuclei CUT&Tag data from patient-derived brain tissue and stem cell model systems.

Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary research team.

What we are looking for

Experience of nuclei isolation, preferentially from brain and/or human tissue

Experience of fluorescence-activated nuclei sorting (FANS), and/or FACS

Experience of epigenomics and/or single-cell genomic technologies.

Research Associate: Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience, biological sciences, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research or industrial experience . *Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as a Research Assistant within the salary range £41,694 - £44,888 per annum

What we can offer you

This role is part of the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) at Imperial College London, located in the Department of Brain Sciences.  Postdocs in the UK DRI at Imperial enjoy excellent career development opportunities with:
