瑞典哥德堡招收化学信息学博士后研究员职位
We're currently looking for talented scientists to join our innovative academic-style Postdoc. From our centre in Gothenburg, you'll be in a global pharmaceutical environment, contributing to live projects right from the start. You'll take part in a comprehensive training programme, including a focus on drug discovery and development, given access to our existing Postdoctoral research, and encouraged to pursue your own i ndependent research in cutting edge laboratories. It's a newly expanding programme spanning a range of therapeutic areas across a wide range of disciplines.
AstraZeneca (AZ) is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases. But we're more than one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. At AZ, we're proud to have a unique workplace culture that inspires innovation and collaboration. Here, employees are empowered to express diverse perspectives – and are made to feel valued, energised and rewarded for their ideas and creativity.
Our Respiratory, Inflammation and Autoimmunity team offers definitive expertise to colleagues across the business. You'll help respiratory patients in areas with medical needs that aren't being fully met, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma and rheumatic disorders tackling these diseases from three areas lung immunity, lung epithelium, and lung remodelling/regeneration. Right now, We are a leading figure in inhaled drug development, and our new Inhalation Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden coupled with our work in new modalities is set to extend that lead even further.
You'll join a truly multi-functional cross-disciplinary (computational chemistry, DMPK and Medicinal Chemistry) in the RIA iMED biotech therapy area and cross-cultural (industry-academia) team, where interaction with other disciplines (AZ internally and externally) will broaden the Postdoc's network and enrich his/her experience portfolio with an industrial and pharmaceutical experience.
With access to multiple resources, instruments, big data and state-of-the-art techniques, there will be the opportunity to interact and learn from AZ scientists, world leading academic experts a nd other Postdocs. The Postdoc will join the vibrant international AZ Postdoc community and enjoy the diverse training opportunities (including some advanced courses in Drug Discovery and Medicinal Chemistry) as well as the opportunity to acquire many valuable soft skills not easily developed in academic placements. You'll be expected to work independently under the supervision and guidance of world leading scientists from AZ and The University of Strathclyde, with an expectation to publish papers in a high-quality journal (at least 1 per year) and attend a conference each year and present a poster or give an oral presentation.
The supervision will be done jointly between AZ and the University of Strathclyde, where you'll be expected to spend some time hosted in the Department of Chemistry and benefitting from world-class computational facilities, including the ARCHIE-WeSt supercomputing centre (http://www.archie-west.ac.uk/). Training opportunities will be provided through the Researcher Development Framework (http://www.vitae.ac.uk), which can lead to PGCert or PGDip qualifications. Periodic meetings (TC, VC) including F2F meetings will be organised as required between Strathclyde advisors, AZ supervisors and Postdoc (Evaluate progress, discussions and consulting).
