CSC访问学者上海 J1 + J2签证办理

　　背景：本人J1，CSC资助访问学者;老婆和孩子J2。

　　准备：材料准备过程就不详述了，总之按照网上的经验准备了许多。我和老婆去的(14岁以下儿童不需面谈);外面排队的时候工作人员会提醒材料分成两组：我和孩子的放一起;老婆的单独准备。

　　接下来是与VO对话的面签过程：

　　Me: Nice to see you.

　　VO: Nice to see you too. Give me your passports, ds2019，ds160s, please.

　　Me: Here you are.

　　VO: 接过，开始在DS2019表盖章，写;同时问：tell me about your research

　　Me: My research is Carbohydrate related cancer vaccine development............

　　VO: How can the carbohydrate be related to the cancer? (问得挺到位);

　　Me：解释了3、4句。

　　VO：Give me your resume, research plan and your supervisor's CV.

　　Me: Here you are.

　　VO: 仔细看了我的resume，重点是简历，然后在publication list那里看了半天，然后是国外老板的简历。

　　估计是看我的研究内容是不是和我说的一样。Me: 这过程我一直没有说话(至少半分钟)。

　　VO：So you will do biology?

　　Me: (犹豫了下说) Yes, it may involve biology, but I should do more chemistry work.

　　VO：沉默

　　Me：You may know chemistry is a time-consuming work, and this program is only for one year, so....

　　VO: Alright. xxxxx (没听懂)

　　Me：Sorry?

　　VO：(汉语)美国劳动法你懂么?

　　Me：(我有点懵了，说懂吧还真不懂;说不懂吧，似乎不好。后来灵机一动说)I have ever spend one year in the USA before, so...(我还没说完)

　　VO: Good. (转而问我老婆)。Is your major xxx?

　　Me: 我看了下老婆，似乎她没听懂，就说 Can she speak Chinese?

　　VO: Sure.

　　Me: (我翻译了下)

　　Laopo: 是的(这是此次签证面谈她说的唯一两个字)。

　　Me：(因为她研究生学的也是敏感专业，我赶紧补充)：她现在不做科研了....

　　VO: Ok, that's all.

　　(沉默)

　　Me: So that means we will be checked?

　　VO: well, no. you'v passed. But we still need to see if your application meets our requirement. If there is any question we will contact you.

　　Me: Ok. Thanks very much. Bye.

　　(我其实还是没弄明白是不是被check了，但是没好意思再问)。

　　感想：其实能不能过,签证官看到你的材料就心里有数了，剩下的只是核实下。所以诚实最重要，没有必要一味回避敏感专业。
