The Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine at Keele University is seeking a highly-motivated post-doctoral researcher to work in the Biomedical Imaging group. ISTM has an international reputation in the field of Biomedical Engineering, and has achieved the highest quality ratings from the UK Research Excellence Framework (REF) General Engineering panel over almost 20 years. Approximately 90% of ISTM’s research was rated as world leading or internationally excellent in REF2014, doubling the 4* excellence in its profile since RAE2008.

This post forms part of the research programme for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Funded Career Acceleration Fellowship entitled “Self-assembling Liposome Nanotransducers”.

The Research Associate will support the development of advanced imaging techniques based on the use of optical, acousto-optical and electro-acoustic technologies; focussing on the engineering of suitable imaging systems in addition to the analysis and collation of results.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject such as optical, electrical or biomedical engineering and will have experience using non-invasive imaging tissue models. You will have working knowledge of Matlab and literature search databases and a good standard of written communication skills relevant to the preparation of scientific papers.
