Post-Doctoral Researcher –Biophysics and Biochemistry of the Cytoskeleton University of Pennsylvania

University of Pennsylvania, PhiladelphiaSalary commensurate with NIH guidelines

Postdoctoral positions are available in the Ostap Laboratory for highly motivated individuals to investigate the biophysics, biochemistry, and structural biology of cytoskeletal motors and scaffolds responsible for membrane dynamics and organelle motility.  Eligible candidates must have a recently earned (0-2 years) advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent).  Published experience in molecular biophysics, biochemistry, or structural biology is required.

The Ostap Laboratory (http://www.med.upenn.edu/ostaplab/) at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine is a core member of the Penn Muscle Institute (PMI), which is a research consortium that focuses on all aspects of contractile biology.  The vibrant PMI community hosts an array of seminars, journal clubs, and symposia that engage students, post-docs, and faculty.  For a listing of PMI programs, see our website (www.med.upenn.edu/pmi).  Additionally, Penn’s Biomedical Postdoctoral Program (www.med.upenn.edu/postdoc/) is a national leader in career development for post-doctoral researchers.

Send a cover letter stating research experience and interests, CV, and the names and addresses of 3 references to Dr. E. Michael Ostap (ostap@upenn.edu).  The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
