Postdoctoral position: host-malaria parasite interactions
A postdoctoral position is available in the Malaria Functional Genomics Section, Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research (LMVR), at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to study host-malaria parasite interactions. We are focusing on (but not limited to) pathways of type I interferon response, apoptosis/necroptosis, and hematopoiesis after malaria infection. The position will be available on January 1, 2016, and is renewable up to five years. Please visit the LMVR website for more details and recent publications.
We prefer a recent Ph.D. candidate who has sincere interest in the research areas described above and is self-motivated for success. Candidates with experience in innate immune signaling, genetic mapping, or parasite genome manipulation such as gene knockout or replacement are preferred. Background in malaria research is not required. To apply, candidates should email xsu@niaid.nih.gov a cover letter with a brief description of research experience and interests, curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information for three references.
