Boyer/Cram/Libby Teacher-Scholar (Postdoc + Lecturer Position)

UCLA Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry (www.chemistry.ucla.edu) is pleased to announce the openings for the 2016 Boyer/Cram/Libby Teacher-Scholar positions. These three Teacher-Scholar positions honor UCLA Chemistry & Biochemistry Department Nobel Laureates Paul D. Boyer, Donald J. Cram, and Willard F. Libby and recognize their many contributions to the advancement of chemistry and biochemistry. The Teacher-Scholars are expected to serve for three-years (2016-2019), with the initial appointment for one year, plus the possibility of renewal for the second and third years. Responsibilities include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, writing and grading exams and problem sets, supervising teaching assistants, and will also conduct postdoctoral research with a sponsoring faculty mentor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Qualified candidates will have received a Ph.D. in biochemistry or chemistry and have a stellar record of research and significant teaching experience at the college level. We welcome candidates whose experience in teaching, research, and community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
