Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is now accepting applications for a
Post-doctoral Fellow/Biostatistics and a Data Analyst/Bioinformatics Specialist in Arthritis and Clinical Immunology (C Montgomery).


• Post-doctoral Fellow/Biostatistics - Arthritis and Clinical Immunology (C Montgomery) - Job # 0000835:

Performs a wide variety of analyses, including but not limited to parametric and non-parametric statistics. Evaluates the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data and to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, accuracy, reliability and usability of data. Reports results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. Conveys results for presentations to non-statistical audiences. Analyzes and interprets statistical data and prepares conclusions. Identifies relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research. Assists scientists in designing experiments to facilitate correct analysis of data. Plans data collection methods for specific projects and determines the types and sizes of sample groups to be used. Queries databases and manages datasets. Performs administrative duties as needed to coordinate projects and facilitate team communication.
Works independently and as a team player and performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D in Biostatistics or related field.

Minimum Degree Required:
Doctorate

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with related biostatistical analysis programs like SAS preferred. Programming skills are highly valued but not required.

Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.

• Data Analyst/Bioinformatics Specialist - Arthritis & Clinical Immunology (C Montgomery) - Job # 0000837:

Conduct genetic analyses. Perform power calculations and statistics, present data and prepare reports. Works independently and as a team player and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, MIS, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field and one year of relevant statistical and/or analysis experience. Applied analysis experience essential. Superb computer skills including experience with R, S-plus or similar statistical package required. Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with diverse personalities and cultures.

Minimum Degree Required:
Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Biostatistics/Epidemiology highly desired. Programming experience a plus.

Physical Demands
Regularly moves about the work environment, talks, hears and listens. Occasionally lifts or moves up to 10 pounds. Requires the ability to see. The noise level and typical work conditions are consistent with an office environment.
