Fixed term contract from 1 October 2015 until 30 September 2018, although the start date can be negotiated for the right candidate. 

A Research Fellow is required to perform high quality research in emerging architectures in high performance computing to support the development of UK plasma physics codes. You will work under the supervision of Professor Stephen Jarvis as part of the EPSRC-funded project “CCP Flagship: A radiation-hydrodynamics code for the UK laser-plasma community”.

You will possess a PhD or an equivalent qualification in High Performance Computing or Computational Plasma Physics (or you will be shortly obtaining such a qualification). You should have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: laser-plasma physics simulation codes; emerging high performance computing architectures including accelerators; high-performance computing code development, optimisation and modelling.

The post is based in the Department of Computer Science but a close interaction with members of the Warwick Department of Physics and industry collaborators is expected.
