We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the innate immunity group in the Respiratory, Inflammation & Autoimmunity Department at MedImmune. Our group is currently studying the signaling and intracellular trafficking of pattern recognition receptors, like TLRs. Using a combination of biochemical and confocal imaging techniques, the successful candidate will examine the signal transduction pathways triggered by receptors that are relevant to innate immunity in antigen presenting cells. The intracellular trafficking of the receptors and the role of lysosomal pathways like phagocytosis and autophagy will also be monitored in order to understand how they contribute to maintaining the fine balance between immunity and autoimmunity. The position is available immediately for a three-year period.

MD, or PhD degree with strong interest in autoimmunity. Previous postdoctoral experience preferred. Proven ability to independently design and execute experiments, and interpret results. Applicant must have a demonstrated record of innovative scientific accomplishment as demonstrated by a distinguished publication record, and a high motivation to study the underlying mechanisms of cellular biology and signal transduction in immunity. Education:
MD, or PhD degree with strong interest in autoimmunity.
