This is a grant funded opportunity with a specific focus on bacterial biofilm and diabetic wounds.

The Laboratory of Dr. Chandan K Sen in Department of Surgery and the Indiana Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work on projects studying bacterial biofilm in diabetic wounds. The laboratory focuses on discovering novel molecules and mechanisms in skin/wound biology and has a desire to partner with physicians in translational medicine in order to accelerate the transition of treatments from bench to bedside.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a doctoral degree (PhD) in microbiology, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology or related fields • Specific experience with the study of host pathogen interaction methodology is highly required • Evidence of publication history in biomedical science field is desired. • Must be willing to work with animals and human subjects • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. • Must be able to work independently or with very limited supervision. • Must be able to multitask and show interest in contributing to several projects ongoing in the lab.
