美国哈佛医学院布列根妇女医院计算生物学博士后职位

Postdoctoral Fellow - Computational Biology

Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH)

A computational biologist position is available at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/ Harvard Medical School, Boston. This will require specific bioinformatics skill sets in computational network biology and systems biology applicable to the field of non-coding RNA and cardiovascular disease states. The candidate will be expected to conduct exploratory discovery and validation dataset analysis and design and execute analysis independently and collaboratively with other scientists in the lab related to evoutionary conserved non-coding RNAs and their targets from mice to human subjects with ischemic cardiovascular disease or diabetes. The role will also involve application of machine learning methods towards systems biology in the contexts of health and disease.

The laboratory’s research is interested in understanding the role of non-coding RNAs (miRNAs/lncRNAs) and their signaling pathways/targets in a range of vascular disease states including atherosclerosis and ischemic injury in the heart and limb. The specific projects deal with understanding the network biology associated with the mechanisms and functions of identified non-coding RNAs in tissues and cell types important to cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Requirements:

Candidate must have a strong background in computational biology, machine learning, statistics, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, have demonstrated productivity with strong publication record, and ability to be independent while also working in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Experience in designing and analysis of bulk genomic, transcriptomic, or epigenetic datasets including RNAseq or single cell Seq studies is strongly preferred.

Degree Required: Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, or related field.

Interested candidates are asked to send curriculum vitae and name/contact information of 3 references to: Mark Feinberg, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, Boston, MA 02115; EMAIL to: mfeinberg@bwh.harvard.edu

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital is an equal opportunity / Affirmative Action employer. Women and minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
