摘要:

Novo Nordisk is building a world-class research team within Cardiovascular & Liver Disease Research, and is seeking an experienced and highly motivated scientist to drive our efforts in the discovery of novel therapeutic biologicals in Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).

About the department
Liver Disease Research is a cross-disciplinary department in Global Drug Discovery, Novo Nordisk, dedicated to research within the cardio-metabolic field, in particular non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). As part of Novo Nordisk’s new strategy within chronic diseases, this department has a focus towards building a research platform, target identification, validation and pre-clinical progression of new treatment options within NASH. Currently, the department consists of 17 employees of whom 8 are Research Scientists. We work in a flexible, collaborative, and cross-functional setting, while keeping focus on quality and goals in an informal environment.

The position
You will be expected to contribute to innovation by identifying and exploring new therapeutic agents to treat non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Your scientific responsibilities will be to independently design, execute, coordinate, and report experimental studies in rodents for model characterisation, target validation, and drug efficacy in collaboration with the in vivo team. You will be conducting guiding 1-2 laboratory technicians on a daily basis to conduct ex vivo analyses such as immunostaining, flow cytometry, primary cell culture, and various immunoassays. Dependent on your level of seniority, you will be guiding 1-2 laboratory technicians on a daily basis. With your expertise within inflammation, you will be further strengthening our experimental research platform with novel, state-of-the-art in vivo and ex vivo approaches. Maintaining a broad scientific network is a key to success and you are expected to foster and sustain the necessary external collaborations.

Qualifications
You hold a Ph.D. degree in Immunology or related discipline with 2-3 years of post-doc experience in inflammation. You have hands-on experience conducting mechanistic studies relevant to immune regulation in vivo and ex vivo and have a proven scientific track-record and a thorough understanding of inflammation, and preferentially liver pathophysiology in both humans and rodents. You have some experience with preclinical animal models of immune diseases and broad experience with immunological and molecular principles such as primary cell isolation/culture, multicolour flow cytometry, cell sorting, imagine techniques, and immunoassays. Experience with in vitro functional assays using primary immune cells is highly desirable.

You are a self-motivated team player with strong communication skills as you will be responsible for appropriate reporting and communication of scientific results. You enjoy working in cross-disciplinary teams and also independently on multiple programs in a fast-paced environment. You are goal oriented with a focus on moving projects and have strong analytical skills.

Working at Novo Nordisk
Novo Nordisk is the leading pharmaceutical company within diabetes, located in the outskirts of Copenhagen. The department is part of Global Drug Discovery, which specialises in the discovery of biological medicines for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, haemophilia, chronic liver and cardiovascular diseases. We believe that innovation and creativity thrive in a healthy and engaging working environment. Therefore, we give you the opportunity to bring your personal ambition and passion to work to improve the quality of life of the patients.
