摘要:

We are launching the new Norwegian K.G. Jebsen Center for Genome Directed Cancer Therapy, headed by Per E. Lønning, Stian Knappskog and Hans P. Eikesdal. We are therefore expanding and will recruit candidates to a total of 7 scientific positions:

4 Researcher positions
1 Post doctor position
2 PhD student positions

The main focus of the K.G. Jebsen Center is to identify molecular mechanisms of therapy resistance / sensitivity and to use this information as a platform for improved cancer therapy. Currently, we have implemented genome-guided therapy in two ongoing clinical trials for breast cancer, and with the launch of the new center we will extend our program to multiple other types of cancer.
All 7 candidates will work in high risk – high gain projects related to this topic. The work will be based on biobanks collected from cancer patients enrolled in ongoing clinical trials. Depending on each candidate’s background and interest, the work will involve molecular and informatics analyses of tumor tissue, with emphasis on data generated by massive parallel sequencing (NGS) and / or in vitro molecular and cellular analyses.
Our research teams are multidisciplinary and consist of molecular biologists, oncologists and bioinformaticians. For the new positions, we are seeking ambitious candidates with a strong background in either of these fields.

Work place and affiliation:
All candidates will be affiliated to the University of Bergen and work within the Mohn Cancer Research Laboratory at the Haukeland University Hospital campus in Bergen, Norway.

Qualifications:
- Researcher positions: Education equivalent to a Norwegian PhD within the relevant fields and a minimum of one completed post doctoral fellowship
- Post doc position: Education equivalent to a Norwegian PhD within the relevant fields
- PhD positions: Education equivalent to a Norwegian MSc or MD
- For all positions: Strong track record relative to the candidate’s stage of the career

We offer:
- Opportunity to work in an expanding team with a translational focus where genome-guided therapy is being developed
- Salaries:
o Researcher beginning at payscale 59 (currently equivalent to 53,000 € per annum)
o Post doctor beginning at payscale 57 (currently equivalent to 51,000 € per annum)
o PhD-student beginning at payscale 50 (currently equivalent to 45,000 € per annum)
- A good pension scheme in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund
- Good welfare benefits
