摘要:

Research Fellow (100024-058)

University of Warwick - Department of Chemistry.

Fixed Term Position for 2 years.

Research Fellow in Chemical and Structural Biology of Natural Products Megasynthetases
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on a major ERC funded project under the supervision of Dr Józef Lewandowski and in collaboration with Prof. Greg Challis. The project will focus on employing an innovative approach combining solid-state and solution-state NMR to study the structures, dynamics and interactions of domains from within polyketide synthases in order to facilitate their rational engineering for synthetic biology applications. Polyketide synthases are multicomponent enzymatic assembly lines for a range of useful natural products, for example, antibiotics that are effective against certain multidrug resistant infections.

You will have completed a PhD in chemistry or a related discipline. Experience in applying solution and/or solid-state NMR spectroscopy to elucidating the structures and/or dynamics of proteins is advantageous and a good knowledge of techniques for the overproduction and purification of recombinant proteins is essential.

You will be an excellent communicator capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers. You will possess excellent planning and time management skills. You will assist in the supervision of research students, in addition to ensuring your own research objectives are achieved effectively. You will prepare monthly presentations and regular written reports detailing your research progress, and will participate in the preparation of research papers and progress reports. You will present your research results at regular progress meetings involving collaborators, as well as at national and international conferences.

For informal enquiries please contact:
Dr Józef Lewandowski (j.r.lewandowski@warwick.ac.uk); phone +44 24 76151355.

The University of Warwick offers an excellent relocation package. To assess whether you may be entitled, please see details on the following pagehttps://warwick.ac.uk/services/humanresources/vacancies/relocation/.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936) and promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of the level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799).
