Seeking a postdoctoral fellow in cancer biology to join a productive and collaborative research team at an outstanding institution in the California Bay Area. Candidate will pursue the mechanism of action, regulation and therapeutic targeting of a novel oncogene important in pediatric and adult cancers and leukemia. Proficiency in performing molecular modulation of gene expression, qRT-PCR, pull-down assays, mutagenesis, CRISPR-Cas9 methodology, cell culture, cell imaging, mouse models of cancer, in vivo and in vitro tumogenicity assays and other state-of-the-art cancer biology techniques is required. Knowledge of flow cytometry, LC/MS, proteomics, genomics, and small animal imaging with an IVIS bioluminescence-based imager would be helpful. Candidates are expected to conduct a hypothesis-driven investigation, master the relevant literature, and perform basic science research independently. Ideal candidate is hard-working, ethical, works collaboratively within a team, and has strong communication and mentoring skills. Position holds opportunity for advancement.
