Post-doctoral Fellow in Inflammatory Bowel Disease : Boston, MA, United States

A Postdoctoral position is available at the Division of Gastroenterology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. The research focus is on immune mechanisms implicated in inflammatory bowel disease, particularly on neuro-immune interactions and identification of new therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate should hold a doctoral degree in Biological Sciences, Immunology, Physiology, Pharmacology or related disciplines and have a strong background in mucosal immunology and in vivo disease modeling. Experience in working with mice and proficiency in cell culture, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and real-time PCR are required. Expertise in mouse models of experimental colitis is highly desired. Candidate should have demonstrated ability to work independently and design and execute publication-quality studies. At least one first-author peer-reviewed publication in a journal of established reputation is required to be considered for the position. Proficiency in English language and advanced writing skills are required. The individual should be highly motivated towards an academic career in biomedical sciences and willing to apply for independent funding.
