Two postdoctoral positions with competitive salaries are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Yi Li, Professor in the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center, Baylor College of Medicine. Baylor College of Medicine is a prestigious biomedical research institute in the U.S. and is a founding component of the world’s largest medical center. It is located in Houston, one of the four largest metropolitan cities in the U.S.

The Li laboratory primarily investigates the molecular and cellular mechanisms of breast cancer initiation and progression, as well as cancer stem cells. The prospective postdoctoral researchers will investigateWNT/beta-catenin, LGR4/5/6, and JAK/STAT signaling pathways in various aspects of breast cancer evolution. Sophisticated rodent models including genetically engineered mouse models as well as patient tissue xenografts will be used to best mimic tumorigenesis in patients. The trainees will also have the opportunity to use cutting-edge technologies including proteomics and genomics as well as molecular pathology and in vivo high-resolution imaging to assist their research projects. Candidates interested in translational projects will have an opportunity to explore the impact of pregnancy, obesity/diabetes, and antipsychotic drugs on breast cancer evolution.
