An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist to join us as a result of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Rothamsted Research and Plant Impact plc.

Plant Impact plc is a leader in research and development in crop enhancement to create foliar spray and seed treatment products that growers can rely on to increase the yield and quality of their crops. Rothamsted Research is a world leading agricultural science organisation providing knowledge and innovation to transform agriculture and contribute to global food security. As a member of Rothamsted Research, you would join a stimulating inter-disciplinary research environment that balances fundamental and applied aspects to improve sustainable agriculture.

Employed by Rothamsted Research, but based at Plant Impact, you will lead this exciting project which aims to develop and take to market a novel technology designed to improve wheat grain yields under abiotic stresses, specifically in response to heat and stress. The project aims to deliver the R & D needed to move a new product into market within the life of the project.

For this post we require a self-motivated scientist who is enthusiastic about working in a commercial environment. You should hold a PhD in a relevant biological or agricultural area, ideally with some experience in conducting/interpreting research in a business environment. The successful candidate will possess research experience in studying plant or crop physiology and the effects of abiotic stress. You will need to work effectively within an agrochemicals research and development environment and be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of the company. You may have the opportunity to travel, for example in managing field trials, presenting papers at national and international scientific conferences and should be able to spend time overseas when necessary.

This 3 year full-time appointment wih a starting salary in the region of £29,842 and £32,315. Rothamsted Research and Plant Impact are located within commuting distance of Central London.
