Job Description
The Department of Systems Biology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applications for multiple postdoctoral positions in Cancer Biology and/or Cancer Molecular Genetics. The postdoctoral research will be performed in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment with world-class experts and state-of-the-art technologies and facilities, which provide unique and ideal career development opportunities. Using integrative experimental and computational approaches, we seek to understand the fundamental genotype-phenotype relationships underlying cancer development and immunity at the systems level, aiming to stratify and functionalize genomic mutations to aid cancer diagnosis and therapy in the era of precision medicine. Successful candidates will be supervised by Dr. Nidhi Sahni at MD Anderson. Representative publications include Cell (2015), 161: 647-60; Cell (2015), 161: 661-73; Cell (2014), 159: 1212-26; Genes Dev (2014), 28: 1957-75; Hum Mol Genet (2015), 24: 3005-20; Curr Opin Genet Dev (2013), 23: 649-57. Over the years, our work has received numerous citations worldwide and immense media coverage.
MD Anderson is ranked number one in the nation for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report and also number one in the number of awarded grants from the National Cancer Institute. It offers excellent cancer research training programs and unmatched scientific environment of the Texas Medical Center, the world’s largest medical center that contains over 50 biomedical institutions for patient care, basic and translational research, including MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University.
Applicants should have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in cancer biology or relevant fields. Proven track record of strong publications, good spoken and written communication skills are required. Applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: (1) cancer molecular genetics and cell biology; (2) cancer cell culture, animal models, PDX models; (3) genome editing and cancer genomics; (4) proteomics and high-throughput screens; (5) next-generation sequencing and network biology; (6) human genetics and systems immunology |
