Job Description
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research. The lab is focusing on uncovering novel regulatory mechanisms and identifying new drug targets in the WNT, TGFb/BMP, and HIPPO signaling pathways, and developing biologic/small molecule therapeutics to treat cancer and degenerative diseases. We use genetic, chemical genetic, proteomics, and bioinformatics approaches for target identification, and we are keen to develop novel functional genomics screening strategies. We are particularly interested in controlling key signaling pathways by targeting the ubiquitin system. The lab is utilizing an intestinal organoid system to study homeostasis of intestinal stem cells, with the aim of identifying novel therapeutic strategies to treat colorectal cancer. The lab is also interested in synthetic lethality for cancer and mechanisms of cancer drug resistance. The postdoctoral fellow will have access to state-of-the-art genomic and proteomic technologies and have opportunities to interact with experts from multidisciplinary teams. This is a unique opportunity for self-motivated scientists to enhance their academic training, expand professional horizons and become independent scientists with the ability to lead their own research groups.
Candidate should possess a doctoral degree, a solid background in cell biology, biochemistry and/or developmental biology, and a strong publication record. Previous experience of cell signaling is helpful. |
