Transcriptional regulation of lymphocyte heterogeneity and differentiation

A postdoctoral fellow position is available at the Molecular and Cellular Immunoregulation Unit (MCIU), Laboratory of Immunology, NIAID. The MCIU aims to address diversity, plasticity, and functions of CD4 T helper (Th) subsets and innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) controlled by key transcription factors such as GATA3, T-bet, and RORgt. We utilize multi-color “reporter” (i.e., T-bet-AmCyan/GATA3-GFP/RORgt-E2-Crimson/Foxp3-RFP quadruple reporter) mice as well as conditional knockout mouse strains for these “master” regulators, in combination with RNAseq and ChIPseq technologies, to study transcriptional regulation of ILC development and CD4 T-cell fate determination at steady state and in autoimmune, allergic, and infectious settings. See more at the MCIU website athttp://go.usa.gov/cYQ8P.

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual with a reasonable publication record who is capable of independent reasoning and excited about learning new technologies. The candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D. but less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge in immunology, in vivo animal models, single-cell analysis or genome-wide analyses of gene expression, epigenetic modifications, and transcription factor binding using RNAseq and ChIPseq technologies. Previous experience in molecular and cellular biology is essential. The candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills. Underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
