Postdoctoral Position in Medicinal Chemistry : AUBURN, AL, United States

The Harrison School of Pharmacy is seeking a motivated and independent post-doctoral candidate applicant to assist with research and development of new research projects in the discovery of small molecule leads with subsequent utilization of these molecules in cell-based and in vivo studies. The candidate will be expected to independently carry out routine laboratory operations, including supervision of graduate, professional, and undergraduate students. Candidates should have good knowledge and experience in identifying mechanism of action of novel class of compounds in melanoma cells. 
The candidate should have a PhD in cancer (particular focus on melanoma) or cancer cell biology and published expertise in target identification and validation (small molecule mechanism of action, pathway analysis, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques). Experience in microscopy is a plus. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent written and interpersonal skills and be proficient with basic computer programs (e.g. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc).
