The Furlong and Merten groups are seeking a highly motivated scientist to examine single cell variation in gene expression during embryonic development.   The position involves using cutting edge genomics technologies with microfluidics to perform single cell RNA-Seq and single cell protein expression analysis during different stages of embryogenesis.   The project will avail of the genomics, developmental biology and gene expression expertise of the Furlong group combined with microfluidics expertise of the Merten group.   The successful candidate should have extensive experience in molecular biology and genomics, an aptitude for method development, and a willingness to learn microfluidics. This new team member will lead an innovative project, at the forefront of current issues in the regulation of gene expression and developmental biology.   If you are passionate about science, hard working, and excited to learn and improve your skills in an outstanding research environment, that this is the job for you!

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a Ph.D. working extensively with molecular biology techniques and RNA.
Prior experience with next generation sequencing is an advantage.   The candidate should be able to work independently and also interact well within a team environment.   The successful applicant will be organized, open-minded, creative and proactive (problem solving skills are essential).   A working knowledge of English is essential.
