Immunology

University of Alberta $40,000- $65,000 depending on experience

A postdoctoral/Research associate is immediately available in cancer immunotherapy. Our laboratory investigates the immunological forces that modulate the development of T cell exhaustion in cancer patients, and the mechanisms by which immune checkpoints are upregulated and maintained. We utilize in vitro assays for the study of immune checkpoints and how their functions can be blocked for the study of cancer immunotherapy. The candidate will focus on the study of exhausted CD8 T cells in regard to inhibitory receptors (e.g. PD-1, CTLA-4 and Tim-3) in human PBMCs and tumor cells and how their exhaustion can be reversed targeting these inhibitory receptors with their ligands.

We are seeking a Ph.D in the biomedical science. Extensive experience with in vitro immunological assays, cancer immunology and molecular biology is highly desired.

The ideal candidate should have an outstanding background in Immunology with demonstrated publication record in the area. Good communication skills, leadership potential, and the ability to work in a collaborative team are essential.

Interested applicants should forward a cover letter summarizing current and future research interests, curriculum vitae, list of publications, and the names, telephone numbers and emails of three references by email to:
