Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Stem Cell Biology

Applications are invited to apply for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).  We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a broad expertise in standard molecular biology and biochemical techniques. The candidate will work with a group of oncologists, biologists and chemists to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the resistance of cancer stem cells (CSCs) to anticancer therapies and to develop innovative therapeutics to target drug-resistant CSCs. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. with outstanding technical skills in molecular biology (experience in gene cloning, vector construction and reporter assays are preferred but not required), strong ability to design experiments and interpret experimental data, and excellent communication skills.

Appointment will be for one year with the possibility of renewal contingent on satisfactory performance and available funding.
