英国赫里奥特瓦特大学招聘实验量子光子学方向博士后
The Edinburgh Mostly Quantum Lab (EMQL) is offering a postdoctoral position in experimental quantum photonics. The project is funded through an EPSRC Quantum Technology Fellowship which aims to generate ultrafast medium-scale photonic cluster states and apply them to a range of applications in quantum information processing—from foundational questions to quantum communication, computing, and metrology.
The EMQL is part of Heriot-Watt University’s Institute for Photonics and Quantum Science (IPaQs). IPaQS offers a vibrant research environment, with a total of 160 academics, postdocs, PhD and EngD students in photonics. The project is supported by two of the four EPSRC Quantum Technology Hubs—Quantum-Enhanced Imaging and Quantum Communication, offering links to industry and collaboration opportunities with research partners across the country.
Successful applicants will have a PhD in a relevant topic in experimental physics or a related discipline with expertise in photonics and/or experimental quantum information processing. Applicants should have a strong track record of scientific achievement and/or technology development. Experience in student supervision would be desirable. The successful candidates will work alongside other Research Associates and PhD students in a young and ambitious research group.
Starting date: 1 October 2015 or soon after. The post is available for four years.
Informal enquires may be made to Dr. Alessandro Fedrizzi, Heriot-Watt University: A.Fedrizzi@hw.ac.uk.
