• Numerical simulation of the stress grading region using dedicated FE software.
• Development and evaluation of non-contact 3D test methods and analysis of the stress grading behavior.
• Development of an ideal stress grading behavior and correlation of simulations and measurements.
• Simulation, analysis and examination of the influence of converter peaks to the stress gradings.
• Characterization and application of novel tapes on test specimen.
• Lifetime and aging behavior as well as thermal classification of new alternative stress grading tapes.
• Collaboration with the material development group at the PCCL (Leoben) within the K-project PolyComp 'Functional Polymer Composites

REQUIREMENTS:

• Academic degree (Ph.D.) or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Profound knowledge of high voltage engineering and electrical metrology.
• Basic understanding of materials science aspects.
• Self-organized and independent work attitude.
• Self-initiative, active interaction with research teams and communication skills.

WE OFFER:

• Collaboration in a highly-motivated multi-disciplinary team with excellent contacts to industry (in particularANDRITZ Hydro GmbH and Isovolta AG) and (inter-)national research institutes.
• The ability to conduct research in the context of a postdoc position. The successful candidate can start working as of now at the Institute of High Voltage Engineering and System Performance of the Graz University of Technology (Prof. Schichler). The position is limited by December 31, 2016.
