摘要:

Postdoctoral researcher: Simulations of the properties and morphology of polymers : Leuven, Belgium

The position is part of the interuniversity collaboration program H-INT-S, sponsored by the Strategic Initiative Materials (SIM) of the Flemish Government, focussing on molecular understanding by simulation of interfacial properties in polymer based composites.

Website unit

Responsibilities
· You will use available molecular and coarse grained simulation methods, including the adaptive resolution scheme, to determine by simulations the properties and morphology of polymers systems at interface.
· You will extend and adapt existing methods, and develop new simulation algorithms.
· You will be involved in the comparison of your simulation results with experimental data obtained by other researchers in the project.
· You will be co-responsible for the guidance of PhD and MSc students active in the project "Simulations of the properties and morphology of polymers at interfaces".
· You will work in a multidisciplinary team.
· You will make use in your research of the Tier 2 HPC research facilities of the KU Leuven and of the Tier 1 research facilities of the Flemish Supercomputer Centre (VSC).

Profile
· We welcome the application of highly qualified researchers with a PhD degree or comparable qualification in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Computational Sciences or adjacent fields.
· Experience with and a solid theoretical background in one or more of the following methods is a benefit: molecular dynamics and/or Monte Carlo methods, systematic coarse graining procedures, reverse mapping procedure in polymer simulations.
· Strong interest for multidisciplinary research.
· Experience in (HPC) scientific programming and using Linux is required.
· Good knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written, is essential.

Offer
· The post doctoral contract is for 1 year. After positive evaluation the contract can be extended up to 2 years in total.
