摘要:

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in cell migration to Karolinska Institutet, department of Biosciences and Nutrition. The postdoc will be financed by a scholarship.

Description of project and work
This postdoc project will be conducted in the research group of professor Staffan Strömblad (http://www.bionut.ki.se/groups/sst/index.html). Our group is interested in cancer biology, with particular emphasis on cell signaling and cell-matrix interactions. The project will focus on how cancer cell migration is controlled by the underlying cellular machinery and also participate in a European Union- Horizon 2020 supported network, Multimot, aiming at the standardization of cell migration research. The project will contain a combination of wet lab experiments, primarily cell handling and confocal microscopy, as well as advanced computational data analyses and handling of large datasets. This postdoc project provides opportunities for growth and development as an independent researcher, as there will be possibilities for initiating new research directions.

Duties
You will be supervised by Staffan Strömblad and work together with PhD students and postdocs both within the group and within the Multimot European network. The Multimot project will run for three years starting in September 2015.

Qualifications
The applicant should hold a PhD from a related area, with extensive experience in computational biology as well as in molecular cell biology. Experience with live cell confocal microscopy is advantageous. Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be able to interact and work efficiently in a team. Excellent spoken and written English is required.

Entry requirements
Eligible are applicants holding a PhD issued in September 2013 or later.
Scholarships to pursue postdoctoral studies may be awarded to individuals who come from other countries with the intention of remaining in Sweden only while obtaining all or part of their education. The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish PhD or higher. Having received a salary or other remuneration from Karolinska Institutet during the past two years may be disqualifying.

Type of scholarship
Karolinska Institutet awards scholarships to pursue postdoctoral studies. This educational scholarship, which is paid for a maximum of two years within four years after the receipt of a PhD or the equivalent, is tax-exempt.

The amount is set for twelve months at a time and is paid out on a monthly basis.
After the two-year scholarship period, a postdoctoral employment may be issued for maximum four years.
