CEU San Pablo University (CEU) was founded in Madrid in 1993 and it is ranked as the second private university in Spain in research effort. CEU counts with 7 Research Centers, 40 research units and 11 research support services. Currently CEU is developing more than 50 research projects, with a budget that exceeds € 4 million. The University has an increasing history of collaboration with Industry, meaning around 65% of its R&D funding. CEU is looking for a highly motivated candidate to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship - Postdoc position. Together with the selected candidate a MSCA IF proposal will be written and submitted. The involvement of the selected candidate in the proposal writing process will provide ample opportunity to tailor the proposal to his / her research interests. A successful application will result in a two-year appointment.
 

Description

Research fellows may join one of the following ongoing Research Projects: 1. Evaluation of the high presence of Acanthamoeba and other protozoa (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, etc.,.) in waters for human use. Study and characterization of the vectorial role of Acanthamoeba (Legionella, Pseudomonas, etc.,.) in the acquisition of emergent pathologies. 2. Microsporidia as a risk factor in the pathology of autoimmune disease (Crohn Disease) and Colorectal Cancer. 3. New diagnostic tool based in Aptamer Development. 4. Pneumonia and autoimmunity due to nosocomial and community acquired infections: Acanthamoeba as a reservoir of Mimivirus, Adenovirus and Legionella: (Research Line in development). 5. Molecular Diagnosis Amoebic Keratitis and Encephalitis. 6. Molecular Diagnosis of Microsporidiosis. 7. Development of monoclonal antibodies for diagnosis of Microsporidiosis in the Spanish Fauna (Lynx, pigeon, bees, etc.,.).
