摘要:

We are looking for a postdoc scholarship holder in epigenetic regulation of hematopoiesis and leukemia to Karolinska Institutet, department of Biosciences and Nutrition. The postdoc will be financed by a scholarship and the postdoc should conduct his/her postdoctoral studies.

Description of project and work
This postdoc project will be conducted in Andreas Lennartssons research team, with the organizational affiliation to Professor Karl Ekwall.
Our group is interested in the epigenetic regulation of hematopoiesis and leukemia. The epigenetic machinery is often perturbed in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and contributes to leukomogenesis in various ways. Increased knowledge about the epigenetic machinery that regulates normal myelopoiesis will help us to better understand the mechanisms that give rise to AML. Therefore we would like to understand how different epigenetic factors participate in myeloid differentiation and stem cell self-renewal. Our research will potentially provide tools for novel therapies. In this project you will work on a new exciting project that focuses on epigenetic regulation of stemcellness in normal and leukemic stem cells.

Duties
You will be supervised by Senior Researcher Andreas Lennartsson and work together with PhD students and postdocs both in the lab and from national and international collaborators. You will use techniques such as Chromatin Immune Precipitation (ChIP)-sequencing, primary cell culture, RNA-seq/CAGE, shRNA knockdown and various DNA methylation assays, to analyze human material from cell lines, healthy donors and AML patients.

This postdoc project provides opportunity for growth and development as an independent researcher, as there will be possibilities for initiating new research directions

Qualifications
The applicant should hold a PhD from a related area, with experience in cell biology and molecular biology. Prior experience in epigenetics or hematology is advantageous. The project involves a lot of different genome-wide methodologies, so experience in bioinformatic analysis is a plus. Candidates should be able to interact and work efficiently in a team. Good knowledge of both spoken and written English is required.

Entry requirements
Scholarships to pursue postdoctoral studies may be awarded to individuals who come from other countries with the intention of remaining in Sweden only while obtaining all or part of their education. The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish PhD or higher. Having received a salary or other remuneration from Karolinska Institutet during the past two years may be disqualifying.

One requirement for receiving a scholarship for postdoctoral studies is central registration as a postdoc.

Type of scholarship
Karolinska Institutet awards scholarships to pursue postdoctoral studies. This educational scholarship, which is paid for a maximum of two years within four years after the receipt of a PhD or the equivalent, is tax-exempt.

The amount is set for twelve months at a time and is paid out on a monthly basis. In exceptional cases, shorter periods may be acceptable.
