摘要:

A post-doctoral associate position is available in the Department of Developmental Biology, University of Pittsburgh. We explore the mechanisms of early human heart formation and model human inherited cardiovascular diseases using embryonic stem (ES) cell and patient-derived induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. We have well-established techniques for human iPS cell generation, differentiation and cardiovascular cell characterization.

Recently, we identified a group of novel RNA regulators in early human cardiovascular development. We are seeking a self-motivated postdoc to study how the novel factors regulate early human heart development and heart disease. This project is novel and expected to reveal a new layer of regulators in controlling human cardiogenesis and heart disease.

The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree. The candidate should have solid experience in RNA-related techniques with a good publication record, and strong background in molecular biology and cell biology. Experience in stem cell is not required. Preference will be given to individuals with hands-on experience associated with RNA and/or epigenetic studies, such as RNA immunoprecipitation, chromatin immunoprecipitation assay (ChIP) and ChIP-seq. Bioinformatics skills are a plus.
