Two projects are available for highly motivated fellows. The first one focus on the enumeration and biology of Circulating tumor cells (CTC) and CTC guided therapy in animal models and perhaps in human. For enumeration, this applicant will independenly isolate CTCs from cancer patients under remission or with tumors. The goal is to determine whether this tool can be used for early detection of tumor relapse or other clinical applications. For biology, the focus will be to understand why CTCs are drug resistatnt and metastatic, what are the key driver genes that control these propertise. These outcomes could be used for guiding treatments in animal models and ultimately in human. This project could be expanded or changed to single cell genetic analysis and CTC culture if the candidate is interested in single cell biology with ability to do so. However, enumeration will be the basic task of this individual and will not be changed. The 2nd project is to test a very novel immune therapy, which was developed in our laboratory.

The candidate must have aniamal handling experience, primary cell culture experience, and immunostaining/bloting exprience. The candidate with confocal microscope experience and immune precipitation will be preferred. This candidate must be highly motivated, must be the ones who finish their PhD less that 10 month. The ones who will finish their PhD in less than 3-6 month will be acceptable. This candidate must be able to draft their own MS. Candidate with previous publication in high impact journal will be another plus. For the 2nd project, some immunology training was required.
