摘要:
The employment in this position should begin in June 2014 for a duration of 24 months. We offer highly competi-tive monthly living and mobility allowances depending on family status in accordance to the PEOPLE Work Pro-gramme 2013 as well as full social benefits. The salary will be commensurate to a Marie-Curie experienced re-searcher position. The successful candidate will be responsible for research, development, applications and transfer of knowledge in the framework of an EU-funded project entitled Active Nanocoated DRy-electrode for Eeg Applica-tions - ANDREA (Marie-Curie program).

Description

Multichannel electroencephalography (EEG) is a well-established method for investigating the function of the human brain, but, despite continuous advancements in signal amplification and data processing, difficult and error-prone signal acquisition on the head surface is still a major issue limiting its employment in basic and clinical research. The main goal of the ANDREA project is to develop a novel dry electrode EEG system with adjustable cap network provided with an automated sensor positioning mechanism, active pre-amplification and a software toolbox for artifacts removal. The novel technologies address the requirements of high signal quality and reliability, mobility, high patient/subject comfort and long-term use, and will be validated in clinical and non-clinical popula-tions to produce a prototype optimized for broad EEG employment. The position includes the following research tasks: - supporting the development and testing of novel dry electrodes and EEG cap systems; - supporting the design, development and testing / validation of pre-amplification electronics; - supporting the development and implementation of algorithms for the automatic detection and removal of artifacts from EEG signals.
