摘要:

Postdoc in Structural Biology of Macromolecular Assemblies : Aarhus C, Denmark

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral project in structural biology at the Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University.

Our research is focused on molecular mechanisms that contribute to cell differentiation from stem cells to neurons as well as alterations of these mechanisms in human disease. In particular, the project involves the structural characterization of DNA-protein complexes. The successful candidate will use molecular cloning techniques to establish bacterial systems and cell lines of higher eukaryotes for protein expression. The project further comprises the reconstitution and purification of the protein complexes as well as their characterization by biochemical, functional and structural analyses.

We offer an interdisciplinary and dynamic environment within an international research group. An excellent laboratory infrastructure with state-of-the-art equipment is available.

For the advertised project, we are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong background in X-ray crystallography and/or electron cryomicroscopy. In-depth experience in molecular cloning techniques as well as overexpression of proteins in E. coli and eukaryotic cells are required. Experience with biophysical methods including fluorescence spectroscopy, UV/Vis spectroscopy, circular dichroism, stopped flow spectrophotometry, and isothermal titration calorimetry is regarded as plus.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in structural biology, protein biochemistry or a related subject. Good communication skills in spoken and written English are required. Applicants should have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team. Further information about the project can be requested from Associate Professor Monika Golas (mgolas@ana.au.dk).

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, complete list of publications, list of oral and poster presentations, and a motivation letter. Please send your application as pdf to Associate Professor Monika Golas (mgolas@ana.au.dk).

Applications are encouraged regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnic background. All applications must be received by April 29th.
