Job Description

Applications are accepted for a Postdoctoral Associate to join the laboratory of Dr. Wehrens, director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Baylor College of Medicine.

The Wehrens lab focuses on the regulation of cardiac ion channels in normal and diseased hearts, with an emphasis on proteins that modulate intracellular calcium handling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
* The research will involve all aspects of cloning, recombinant protein expression, isolation of cardiac myocytes, patch-clamping and/or calcium imaging, and in vivo studies in mouse models of cardiac disease.
* The candidate is expected to be highly motivated, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and have good paper and grant writing skills.
