Job Description

The Department of Environmental Health Sciences and Epidemiology at Indiana University Richard M Fairbanks School of Public Health is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the newly established Departments and School. Indiana University Richard M Fairbanks School of Public Health is formerly Department of Public Health, Indiana University School of Medicine. The Department became an independent School in 2013 and has since maintained a close relationship with Indiana University School of Medicine in research, teaching and community service. In addition, the Fairbanks School of Public Health has long-standing close scholarly relationships with Indiana University School of Nursing, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and School of Dentistry.

The successful candidate will be able to conduct epidemiological and collaborative research in environmental epidemiology preferably with focuses on health effects of air pollution and heavy metal such as lead, mercury, selenium and arsenic, etc. Candidates who wish to pursue projects related to air pollution or heavy metals as a new research direction are also encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements include a PhD in Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Public Health or other quantitative fields. Individuals with the following skills are encouraged to apply: excellent quantitative skills in epidemiologic data analysis, demonstrated proficiency in programming with statistical packages including R, SAS or Stata, and strong oral and written communication skills. Experience in
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is preferred but not required.
