Job Description
The position is focused on understanding the roles nuclear receptor signaling, signal transduction and/or metabolism in prostate cancer. The successful candidate will research various aspects of endocrinology, pharmacology, signal transduction, metabolism and cancer biology within the context of developing novel treatments for prostate cancer. In addition, candidates will work with physicians within the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology to coordinate their laboratory work with current clinical questions.
Preferred candidates will have experience in genetic mouse models of cancer. Backgrounds in xenograft models of cancer, molecular and cellular biology, immunology and/or cancer metabolism are also encouraged. The fellow would work directly under Dr. Daniel Frigo, Associate Professor in the Departments of Cancer Systems Imaging and Genitourinary Medical Oncology. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or equivalent by the time of hire from an accredited institution of higher learning with a solid publication record. Preference will be given to candidates that are within two years of receiving their Ph.D.
