Job Description
Prof. Zhengqing Ouyang is seeking a highly motivated individual to join his lab at the research institute Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine, located on the campus of University of Connecticut Health Center at Farmington, Connecticut, USA. Applicants will be considered primarily at the postdoctoral level, but more experienced candidates may apply for a senior scientist position. The postdoctoral fellow will develop statistical and computational methodologies for analysis of large-scale genomic and epigenomic data. Of particular interest includes but is not limited to (1) RNA genomics, including genome-wide inference of RNA regulatory elements, RNA-protein interaction, and RNA-chromatin interaction; and (2) Chromatin genomics, including genome-wide inference of chromatin interaction, 3D genome structure, and global regulation of gene expression. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, with solid background in both statistics and genomics. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related quantitative area. Excellent programming skills (R/Python/Perl/C/C++), strong publication records, and extensive experience in genomics are essential.
