Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available to qualified candidates in Trusted Cloud Computing and Big Data Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province，led by Prof. G. Luo at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). Our research interests include, but are not limited to, data stream mining, machine learning, cloud computing, big data and their applications.
The work aims at solving real-world, large-scale, and challenging data mining problems for big data and solving challenging cloud security and scheduling problems.
A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field, with research experience in statistical data mining or machine learning or big data or cloud computing is highly required, and knowledge of mathematics is also desirable.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate independence and creativity. Good oral and written skills and a strong publication record in refereed journals are required. Experience of working in a team, be able to develop and apply new concepts and have a creative approach to problem-solving are also required.
Salary is 200,000 RMB to 250,000 RMB per year, which is commensurate with education and experience. Moreover, UESCT will provide the benefit package (e.g. free high-standards fully furnished houses, health insurance, education at UESTC schools for children, 30 days of paid vacation per year, and rough-trip economy class tickets). The position duration is for two years from 2015.3.1 to 2017.2.28.
