Job Description

Postdoctoral fellowship position in GI cancer immunology is available in the laboratory of Dr. Peter P. Lee, Chair, Dept. of Cancer Immunotherapeutics & Tumor Immunology (CITI) at the Beckman Research Institute, with co-mentoring by Dr. Marwan Fakih, Director, GI Medical Oncology, City of Hope. The Beckman Research Institute is an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution, and a designated Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. The City of Hope’s Beckman Research Institute provides an environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration. 

The aims of the project include understanding the effects of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immune therapy (e.g. anti-PD-1 antibodies) on the interactions between GI cancer cells, immune, and stromal cells within primary and metastatic tumors and draining lymph nodes. This project involves state-of-the-art technologies including 10-12 color flow cytometry, spectral imaging histology, and next generation sequencing.

• Requires completed doctorate in life sciences or related discipline.
