Coventry University achieved the highest ranking for a modern university in the history of the guides, leaping 10 places in the 2014 Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. With an overall ranking position of 45, the University has secured the prestigious title as the UK’s Modern University of the Year for the second consecutive year. Coventry University has developed a significant portfolio of high-impact research, and with a significant investment in research we continue to gain momentum as a world-class, innovative University that is internationally regarded and ranked for its research.

This is a most exciting time for the University, as our ‘Excellence with Impact’ strategy is now well underway and an excellent time for new joiners to the University who together with colleagues can make a contribution to the shaping and development of this important next stage of our journey.

To support our strategy we have established a dedicated Research Office, which operates under the leadership of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) and line management of the Associate Pro Vice Chancellor (Research), and is the primary source of support for research quality and our future REF submission. It also importantly provides research student support, research projects funding and compliance, costing, delivery and research development support. The Research Development Executive is a pivotal post contributing to our Excellence with Impact strategy and the Research Office structure.
