3-year postdoc position in nutrition of pigs and poultry

At Department of Animal Science, Aarhus University, a postdoc position is available starting on 1 January 2022 or as soon as possible.

The Department of Animal Science seeks a candidate with a strong background in sustainable nutrition of pigs and poultry.

The candidate is expected to take part in initiatives within nutrition of pigs and poultry as a solution in the green transition of animal production. This work will take place in an interdisciplinary research environment together with national and international research teams and industry partners and to contribute to attract external funding. A specific task will be to build up a facility for evaluation of individual feed uptake of pigs. The candidate will participate in public sector advisory service. The post doc will participate in knowledge exchange with society and industry and is expected to teach and supervise students at the Bachelor, Master and PhD levels.

Qualifications

•Academic qualifications at PhD level in animal science

•Research experience on alternative and sustainable feedstuffs for pigs and poultry, and how to evaluate them

•Experience in public sector advisory service will be beneficial

•Excellent skills in scientific communication of research results

•The candidate is expected to make an effort to learn to read, write and speak Danish

Place of employment and place of work

The place of employment is Aarhus University (AU), and the place of work is Department of Animal Science, Blichers Allé 20, DK-8830 Tjele.

Application procedure

Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants.

Letter of reference

Formalities and salary range

Technical Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
