Title Postdoctoral Fellow for Disease and Therapeutic Response Modeling and Simulation Program

The Disease and Therapeutic Response Modeling and Simulation Program in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Indiana University School of Medicine , Indianapolis, Indiana, is seeking outstanding candidates for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacometrics to support multi-institutional maternal and pediatric therapeutic modeling initiatives, including the development of physiologically based pharmacokinetic models.

The postdoctoral fellow will join our highly individualized training program in quantitative pharmacology and pharmacometrics, including application of non-linear mixed effects modeling, Bayesian modeling and Monte-Carlo Simulation techniques, physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling, data mining, machine learning, and quantitative systems pharmacology. Trainees will benefit from interaction with the Division's T32 Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship program, experts in clinical pharmacology, drug development, biostatistics, computational biology, and bioinformatics. Candidates will develop the critical skills necessary for participation in state-of-the-art pharmaceutical research.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate or terminal degree required. Highly motivated, ambitious, and creative individuals with PharmD, MD, or PhD in pharmacology, systems biology, pharmacometrics, bioengineering, computational biology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience and proficiency in pharmacokinetic modeling as well as a basic knowledge of statistics, biology, physiology, and pharmacology. Preference will be given to candidates with strong quantitative skills and computational experience (GastroPlus, Simcyp, Nonmem, Monolix, R, Matlab, etc.). Excellent spoken and written English communication skills are a prerequisite.
